South Carolina Association for Pupil Transportation
Document

From The President:

Dear Members,

It is an honor to serve as the 41st President for the South Carolina Association for Pupil Transportation. Our Past Presidents have set a positive and professional example for future presidential leaders to follow.  I pledge to continue to follow these high standards with the support from all who serve students, parents, and the general public across South Carolina.

The upcoming years will be exciting as we continue to broaden our efforts and build on the momentum that we have gained over the past few years. I feel that we have the knowledge, experience, and expertise throughout the State to make SCAPT one of the leading associations in pupil transportation.  We know the steps we need to take are simply an extension of what we have been doing successfully since our inception.

As we approach this upcoming school year, there will be many challenges. In pupil transportation, the only thing we know for sure each day is that the buses will roll each morning and afternoon.  Along with our day to day obstacles, we face decreasing budgets, legislative changes, DMV changes, and are asked to do more with less. Ours is a job many take for granted.

My challenge to each District Director across the state will be to recruit from within and spread the word about what our association stands for.  We are stronger in numbers than as individuals.  We can advocate for change, but our voice is louder when we are in one accord.  We are “Team Transportation”.

I personally welcome any suggestions that will better our association.  We have bright minds with a lot of years of service across the state.  Let’s be creative and proactive towards reaching new milestones for the 2015-16 school year.

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication.

Sincerely,

Robbie Adams

SCAPT President
