President's Message

My name is Darryl K. Webb and I server as the current President for SCAPT. I have been dedicated to school bus transportation over 35 years. As my full-time position, I serve in the capacity of the Director of Transportation for Anderson School District Five. I have been employed there for 25 years. I served in the United States Army for 3 years in Germany as a military policeman.

 

Before becoming the Director, I started out as a school bus driver. I transitioned to driving a tanker truck, fueling school buses, changing oil, tires, seat covers repairs and painting buses. Last but not least, I am a huge Carolina Gamecock Football fan.

 

My experience in the transportation sector has allowed me to be a part of SCAPT for several years. As the current SCAPT President, our goal this year is to restructure the organization. Starting in July, 2022, SCAPT has changed from nine regional directors to five divisions. These divisions are made up of a chairman and a co-chairman. Their goal is to capture all areas of responsibilities from leadership down to the grass roots of school bus transportation in the state of South Carolina.

 

Under this re-organization, the association has hired an Executive Director to run the daily operations of the association. We are embracing change and seeking to reach everyone who plays a part in the transportation sector.
