In Memorium  

This memorial page is dedicated to all those who have dedicated their lives to the safe transportation of students. We honor their hard work, dedication, and commitment to ensuring that every student arrives at school and back home safely.
It stands as a reminder of the importance of student transportation and the dedication of those who work to keep our children safe. We will forever be grateful for their service and sacrifice.

2020 to 2023

08/28/2020: Myles "Milo" Wilson, Athletic Director and past Bus Driver, Spartanburg School District 7. Myles served Spartanburg School District 7 and the community for over 35 years. 

10/31/2020: Glenn William Plummer, Bus  Driver, Anderson School District 5.

Glenn served Anderson School District 5 and the community for 5 years. 

11/03/2020: Samuel "Sammy" Grayson Stephens Sr, Area Supervisor, South Carolina Department of Education. Sammy served the South Carolina Department of Education for 41 years as both a County and Area Supervisor, as well as SCAPT president.   

04/12/2021: Robbie McAlister, Retired Routing Coordinator, Anderson District 5. Robbie served Anderson School District 5 and the community for 30 years. 

06/14/2021: Willie Chiles, County Supervisor, Lower Richland Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. Willie served the South Carolina Department of Education for 48 years as a County Supervisor.     

07/17/2021: Rhonda Jean Newton McCuen, Retired Safety Specialist, School District of Greenville County. Rhonda faithfully served the School District of Greenville County and the community for 37 years. 

07/17/2021: Mark Anthony Saylors, School Bus Driver, Anderson School District 5. Mark served Anderson School District 5 County and the community for 10 years. 

12/30/2021: Avery G. Smith, Retired Area Supervisor, SC Department of Education.

Avery served the South Carolina Department of Education for 31 years as an Area Supervisor.     

03/18/2022: Holli LaJune “June” Hembree Knight, Area Manager, School District of Greenville County Schools. June served the School District of Greenville County and community for 25 years as a dedicated school bus driver, Bus Supervisor, and later in her career as Area Manager.

05/05/2022: Robert Arnold "Bob" Baldwin, Retired Engineer Associate, SC Department of Education. Bob served the South Carolina Department of Education for 30 years as a parts manager and engineering associate.

06/30/2022: James A. Johnson, Shop Foreman, Summerville Bus Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. James served the South Carolina Department of Education for 23 years as a technician and shop foreman. 

07/06/2022: Larry Vinson Heaton, Bus Driver, Anderson School District 5.

Larry served Anderson School District 5 and the community as a school bus driver for a number of years.

09/3/2022: Rennie Roxanne Zucker, Bus Supervisor for Cherokee Schools.

Rennie served the Cherokee County district and community for 21 years as a dedicated school bus driver and later in her career as a bus supervisor. 

09/23/2022: Lynn Pittman, Bus Driver for Spartanburg School District One.

Lynn served the Spartanburg one district and community for 43 years as a dedicated and faithful school bus driver. 

03/13/2023: Brenda Jane Carroll, Bus Driver, Anderson School District 5.

Brenda Jane served the Anderson 5 school district and community for 24 years as a dedicated and faithful school bus driver. 

04/01/2023: Karl Wayne Moore II, Technician, Converse Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. Karl served the South Carolina Department of Education for 1 month as a technician.  

05/02/2023: James Harold (PeeWee) Hawkins, Retired Spartanburg 5 Transportation Director. PeeWee served the Spartanburg School District 5 school district and community for 27 years. 

06/07/2023: Jarrod LaJuan Sumter, Richland School District 2 Transportation Manager. Jarrod proudly served the Richland County School District 2 and community.

2010 to 2019

08/04/2010: Joseph Franklin Balentine, Retired Shop Foreman, Converse Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. Joey served the South Carolina Department of Education as a technician and shop foreman for 12 years.

05/03/2011: Ray A. Pea, Retired Bus Driver for Spartanburg School District 7.

Ray served Spartanburg School District 7 and the community for 15 years. 

06/17/2011: Talmadge Julian Metcalf, Retired Parts Manager, Spartanburg Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. Julian served the South Carolina Department of Education as a parts Manager for 35 years.

08/21/2011: Douglas R. Sawyer, Bus Driver for Spartanburg School District 7.

Doug served the South Carolina Department of Education and Spartanburg School District 7 for 16 years.

01/09/2012: Jimmie L. Fowler, Retired County Supervisor, Anderson Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. Jimmie served the South Carolina Department of Education as a Driver Trainer and County Supervisor for 31 years.

04/28/2012: Frances L. Gregory, Retired Assistant Director for Spartanburg School District 7.

Frances served the Spartanburg School District 7 for many years.

02/17/2013: David W. Martin, County Supervisor, Charleston Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. David served the South Carolina Department of Education as a Driver Trainer and County Supervisor for 20 years.

11/06/2017: Colin John "CJ" Jeffcoat, County Supervisor, Lexington Shop, South Carolina Department of Education. Colin served the South Carolina Department of Education for 1 year.

03/05/2018: Ralph M. Hendrix, Retired State Director for the South Carolina Department of Education. Ralph served the South Carolina Department of Education for 38 years.

10/07/2018: Clifford T. Springer, Retired Bus Driver, Spartanburg School District 7. Clifford served Spartanburg School District 7 and the community for 19 years. 

2000 to 2009

07/15/2008: Hester D. Narron, Retired Transportation Director for Spartanburg School District 2. Hestor served Spartanburg School District 2 and the community for 15 years.
